They will turn a lowroll into a top 4 and a highroll into a 1st nearly every time against plat players. All these things add up and overall give them a massive advantage over the lobby to the point where individual players RNG doesn't matter much. And these decisions are variable, you aren't going to position the same every game, aren't going to buy the same units, roll at the same time, etc. They know how to position better, how to scout better, build strongest board better, transition better, econ better, when to winstreak, when to lose streak, when to roll, what units to buy, what units to hold and when, what items to slam, what items they want later, what comps they can potentially play, etc. What makes the climb easy is that they do everything better, they have a much more comprehensive understanding of the entire game. There's no particular thing a Grandmaster+ player does better than a plat player that makes them climb easily. I also notice that these top players have alot of traits going into late game, whereas lower elo players focus on a single trait. How do I know when to sell my chosen to transition at lvl 7/8? And how do I know if I need to? What separates a plat player from a diamond player, and a diamond player from a top tier player? And how do they win streak so hard in low elo? Tl dr I guess I really have 3 main questions here: I tried transitioning this set and last set, and it always felt like I was really weak when I sold my chosen, particularly when I can't find a 4 cost chosen at lvl7/8. ![]() I am guessing this is probably because of a chosen 4/5 cost, but I rarely sell my chosen unit even if its 1/2 cost, especially if it gives a useful trait like 6 elderwood or 6/8 brawlers. When checking some of their match histories, they sometimes have their chosen unit on a low synergy, like duelist 2. I also understand that I need to slam useful items early, and have item holders for my 4 cost carries. ![]() I understand how to play flexibly in the early game, and pivoting depending on the items/units I get, but I always tend to default to the same meta comps that are shown on lolchess/metatft. Some people also consistently #1 almost every game. This seems to be common for many high level players climbing in low elo, but I don't understand how they do it. ![]() While climbing I have noticed that some players never lose going from placements to diamond +. For some context, I am currently a plat player.
